Thank you for your interest in volunteering with NAMI Wisconsin! 

NAMI Wisconsin is continually seeking talented and passionate mental health advocates to help us achieve our mission of improving the quality of life and promoting recovery to the many individuals living with mental illness and their families. Volunteers are the heart and souls of our organization and we wouldn't be able to reach our goals without the dedicated support of generous volunteers. 

Currently at the NAMI Wisconsin office, we are seeking help in the following volunteer positions: 

  • Office Support
    If you have a friendly demeanor and positive spirit, we would love to have you as the face of our office! Office support volunteers will assist NAMI Wisconsin is administrative tasks such as research, mailings, technical support, greeting visitors, answering phones, etc. Volunteers must be willing to commit to a regular weekly shift of 2+ hours for a minimum of 1 year.
     
  • Membership & Program Support
    Our grassroots organization is built on the strong membership base around the state. Membership and program support volunteers will assist NAMI Wisconsin’s Program Coordinator to process memberships, renew memberships, and prepare for upcoming trainings throughout the state. Volunteers must be willing to commit to a regular weekly shift of 2+ hours for a minimum of 1 year.
     
  • Special Events
    If you love gatherings and celebrations, we want you to help us plan them! NAMI Wisconsin coordinates multiple events throughout the year. Special event volunteers will assist the Communications & Events Director to assist with planning of event logistics leading up to the event. Volunteers must be willing to commit to a regular weekly shift of 2+ hours for a minimum of 1 year.
     
  • Development
    Show your appreciation for other fellow mental health advocates around the state through this volunteer position! Development volunteers will assist the Communications & Events Director in data entry, mailings, and collecting stories from NAMI members across the state. Volunteers must be willing to commit to a regular weekly shift of 2+ hours for a minimum of 1 year.
     
  • Communications
    If you love writing a ‘feel-good’ story, this is the perfect volunteer position for you. Communication volunteers will assist the Communications & Events Director in collecting ‘success stories’ from the individuals benefiting from NAMI’s programs across the state and also help coordinate NAMI Wisconsin’s social media pages. Volunteers must be willing to commit to a regular weekly shift of 2+ hours for a minimum of 1 year.
     
  • Gardening
    Do you have a green thumb and knack for beautifying outdoor areas? If so, we’d love to have your help upkeeping our outdoor area of our office to ensure our office is welcoming to our visitors. Volunteers must be willing to commit to occasional shifts as needed for a minimum of 1 year.
     
  • Photography/Videography
    Put your love for capturing moments to good use! NAMI Wisconsin is always seeking talented photographer and/or videographers to capture the essence of our events throughout the year. Volunteers must have experience with digital photography/videography and must provide their own photo equipment.

  • Committees: NAMI Wisconsin relies heavily on the support of our operating committees (i.e. Public Policy & Advocacy Committee, Conference Planning Committee, and Fund Development & Marketing Committee).   • Internships: NAMI Wisconsin offers part-time, unpaid internships during the fall, spring, and summer terms for individuals wishing to gain hands-on experience in the fields of non-profit administration or public policy.
