Statewide Informational Sessions on Health Care Reform

Want to learn more about health care reform and how it will affect you from a reliable, in-person source?  The Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance will hold informational sessions on the Affordable Care Act in Wisconsin after Labor Day weekend.  The sessions will be 90 minute, informal events open to the public, guided by attendees' questions. September 3rd:  Rhinelander, Wausau, Eau Claire, La Crosse September 4th:  West Allis, Pewaukee September 5th:  Kenosha, Green Bay, Appleton September 6th:  Madison, Cleveland

Western Region Integrated Care Consortium Informational Sessions

The Western Region Integrated Care Consortium has scheduled the following informational sessions on its pilot project next month:

La Crosse: Noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 3, basement auditorium at the La Crosse County Human Services Department, 300 Fourth St. N.

Sparta: Noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 4, Room 1000E of the Barney Community Center.

Tomah: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 5, Room 220 at Western Technical College, 120 E. Milwaukee St.

Black River Falls: Noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 6, Room 140 at Western Technical College, 24 Filmore St.

September Symposium on Behavioral Screening and Intervention

What:   Symposium on Behavioral Screening and Intervention, Open to the public, FREE,  Designed to help facilitate the conversation between healthcare policymakers, consumers, payers and providers to push for further movement and action on screening and intervention.  These conversations will improve early intervention that saves individuals and families from years of suffering. Who:  Hosted by Wisconsin Initiative to Promote Healthy Lifestyles (WIPHL)

When:  Tuesday, September 17th at Monona Terrace

Speakers include:  Kevin Moore, Deputy Secretary of Wisconsin's Department of Health Services, and John Torinus, Chairman of the Board of Seriograph, Inc. and author of "The Company That Solved Health Care"

The 2013-15 WI State Budget includes 1.3 million dollars to open 3 Regional Peer Run Respites - each with a warmline.  Come to a listening session in your area to give input on the development and implementation of this exciting new initiative! Empowerment Days 2013

Grassroots Empowerment Project

Meet with peers to discuss ways to improve mental health services in Wisconsin and learn the skills needed to advocate for policy changes!

Empowerment Days is an event hosted by Grassroots Empowerment Project that brings together a statewide network of peers to reach consensus on the messages to state and local policymakers.  The event includes a lunch and discussion with state policymakers!
