On Monday, October 24th, the June family was shattered to pieces as they lost their father and husband to depression. Adam June was a loving father of four young children. His favorite thing to do in life was to show his children all the fun things life had to offer. As real as his happiness was, his pain was real too. Adam continually cared for those around him, instead of caring for himself.
On Saturday, January 21st, NAMI Wisconsin will partner with Crowe Collective and Wilson Law Group to present Legacy of Love: A Night Out with NAMI Wisconsin. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the four young children of Adam June.
Charly Rowe, founder of Crowe Collective initiated this event when two of her co-workers at Wilson Law Group, LLC each lost a family member to suicide within the last couple of months. In effort to grieve and support with one another, both families desired an avenue for advocacy not only to bring healing to the suicide survivor’s, but also to promote awareness for mental health.
The first in a planned series of Legacy of Love events will be held from 6:00 pm -10:00 pm at the Brink Lounge, in Madison, WI. Attendees will have the opportunity to mingle at a community social hour, take the pledge against stigmas surrounding mental illness, listen to local spoken word artists and enjoy the evening to the lively tunes of the Caravan Gypsy Swing Band.
Local sponsors for this event include Wilson Law Group, LLC; Mental Health Solutions, S C; Chick-fil-A West Towne, The Brink Lounge and Foxwell Digital.
Tickets are $10 and currently available through Eventbrite.com, but will also be sold at the door. All ticket sales go to the trust fund for Adam June’s children, which is being generously donated by Wilson Law Group, LLC.
